Our story
Elderly Companion was founded after seeing firsthand how devastating loneliness can be for older people — and how much a simple, warm visit can change everything.
We knew there were wonderful people willing to give their time, and families desperate for a trusted, caring presence when they couldn't always be there themselves. We built the bridge.
Every companion on our platform is Enhanced DBS checked, personally interviewed, and chosen for their character — not just their CV.

How we vet companions
Application review
We review every application carefully — background, motivation, and experience all matter.
Personal interview
Every companion has a 1-to-1 interview with us. We're looking for character, warmth, and reliability.
Enhanced DBS check
All companions must hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate before their first visit.
